Suede looks delicate. With the right products, it isn't.
Suede and nubuck easily collect dust and stains, but they clean well with the right tools: specific brushes, erasers, dry foam cleaners, and suede brushes to revive the color. The mistake to avoid is using creams or polishes for smooth leather.
Suede and nubuck have a napped surface that should be treated dry, not softened. The correct routine starts with a brush to remove dust; the abrasive eraser removes surface stains; dry foam cleans without wetting. For these materials, prevention is more important than elsewhere: a dedicated spray from the protect and waterproof section prevents water and stains from penetrating the nap, where they would be difficult to remove. If a stain is already present, you'll find the right products among those for cleaning and stain removal, specially chosen not to flatten the nap. Creams and polishes designed for smooth leather, however, ruin the texture: this is the most common mistake.
