A waterproofing spray applied before use protects leather, suede and fabric from water, salt and dirt. It does not alter the color or breathability, but it can save a pair of shoes from a sudden downpour. Here you will find sprays and creams for every material.

Protecting is simpler than repairing: a water-repellent barrier prevents water, mud and stains from penetrating the fibers. In winter, anti-salt prevents the white marks that ruin shoes and boots. The protective agent should always be applied to a dry and clean surface, so the step that precedes it is proper cleaning and stain removal; then it should be reapplied after a few uses or after every deep wash. Protection is particularly important for suede and nubuck, the materials that absorb the fastest and that without spray get stained at the first contact with water.
